Pros

Growing “startup” company to have on resume.

Cons

No trust between upper management & employees. No flexibility to work from home, except on set days (1 day/week maximum). They started monitoring when people came & left the office (again, no trust). Very “cliquey” culture, if you’re not welcomed it will be very clear. A lot of sexist comments and gestures made toward particular females that made everyone uncomfortable. Overall, not a good experience nor would I ever recommend a friend to work there.

Low pay, outdated policies.

Pros

Benefits do exist. Generally provides a solid base for career development. Employees seem to have good relationships despite the highly demanding culture.

Cons

Awful, outdated views of how to run a SOC. Obvious Astro-turfing of their own reviews. It’s possible to progress a career here, but any other SOC will provide better compensation, in better areas to live. Employees are overworked and under compensated. The work life balance is a joke and the company will gaslight you with a “work life presence” joke of a philosophy. Management just serves as a way to squeeze the SOC for bigger numbers but they do nothing to address the longstanding underlying issues. High turnover rate. Refusal to meet market rates for pay probably contributes to this. They hire engineers with zero experience right out of school. Most of these people are genuinely brilliant and good people but it creates a workplace environment that desperately lacks high levels of skill and experience. Workload expectations are never clear and the goalposts seem to move every week. The management seems to believe that ‘working harder’ is the only way to meet the workload demands. Overall this is an exhausting place to work. They should invest in experienced leadership and work to bring the business processes and compensation to the modern era.

Pros

Great salaries for Tampa, bad salaries for nationwide tech. Hire a ton of college students and unqualified people due to in person work requirements and low pay, a great way to get your foot in the door of the tech industry. There are pockets of great teams built around committed leaders who known what they're doing, who too often are burning themselves out banging heads against the desires of their own executive leadership. Very easy to get promoted because turnover is so high, and hours worked matters more than impact. I mean this literally, because many teams require time tracking, including development roles. Let's you play pretend product driven tech company.

Cons

The number one con of working at ReliaQuest is the active deception from executive leadership. Whether it's being secretive about financial information, your own compensation, product metrics, or days of remote work, you can expect that leadership is constantly obsessing about how to exploit you and position themselves well. For SOC roles especially: you will be exploited here. For investors and developers: ask about product adoption. There's a time when ReliaQuest seemed genuinely committed to employees based on tenure, but with the economic crunch and pressure to meet investor goals, that has quickly gotten thrown out. Time at the company has determined people's seniority more than their qualifications or abilities. ReliaQuest's leadership page should give you a good idea of what to expect in terms of company direction and commitments to diversity.
