Pros

Great training - they train you well enough to leave and get a job anywhere. Work Life Balance is better than most because the managers refuse to work overtime, they can't enforce the agents to work overtime either. In fact, the company is well positioned to let you quit because the house will keep your commissions if you leave.

Cons

Culture, Expectation, Work Environment, Compensation. There are plenty of things about this company that lack integrity. The managers are glorified babysitters that produce nothing except heartache and grief for the agents that actually are writing business. They mistreat their employees (even after watching agents win bonuses and races, they'll find a way to make those agents feel inadequate). In the last 1 year they've had turn over of over 140 agents. The whole staff size is only 180. That's insane! Why work for a company that is either going to fire you in your first 4 months on the job (I've seen people fired in less than 1 month), or why work for a company that you're going to quit in less than a year? I'm actually embarrassed to have SelectQuote on my resume.

Pros

You can make money if you can deal with the most unprofessional workplace that exists in finance.

Cons

Overly micromanage. Text messaged from management consistently on my days off pressuring me to come in to work. Harassment and unlawful practices regarding wage and labor laws. Complete disrespect for agents. Disrespectful culture berating agents and implementing scare tactics to encourage production. Even the CEO maintains a perspective that true business people would never join his company. Senior leadership looks for any reason to take away commissions on earned sales as a form of punishment to spark more sales volume. Incentives are misaligned between company goals and agent goals. Company is only concerned with upfront production and cares little for value of business. Very much so a "what have you done for me lately" mentality in management.

Pros

Flexible with schedule. You can make money if you can handle the micro management.

Cons

They lied and said the position was base + salary. Well, it is straight commission. You have a training salary that you can stay on for 6 months. They also didn't mention that you are required to work every Saturday(full shift) for 6 months. The management style is that of the movie "Boiler Room". Intimidation and humiliation.
