Pros

-Thorough training -Kind management and employees -Employer benefits

Cons

-Lies from the start -Extremely low pay -Provides snacks and sugary drinks as compensation instead of actual money -Promotes give aways of TVs/laptops/random electronics as prizes instead of money -Goals are extremely high and you are not just responsible for your own sales, but the members of your own team -You are told to reach goals, and your manager will tell you that parts of your goal are just not attainable, and that’s just the way it is -Management is so overwhelmed that they can not handle the amount of agents they have to take care of, so don’t expect any actual coaching

Pros

Great training ~ It is like a college education that you get paid for ~ A lot of free food ~ Some coworkers are awesome ~ Many different hours to accommodate your life

Cons

Metrics do not give a good indicator of productive work ~ Customers cannot be serviced well if people have to constantly be worried about getting the most emails, quotes, orders. Customer satisfaction suffers. Middle management needs much better training on how to manage. Workplace bullying is worse than any place I have ever worked. Middle management encourages teams to document their teammates and throw them under the bus. The use of instant messaging is mostly gossiping and talking behind the backs of team members, which lowers morale and causes resentment within teams. Culture is very bad.

Pros

Occasional Free Lunches, lots of high tech information, good networking, decent healthcare options, great investment and 401K options

Cons

The sales floor appears to have lost its way compared to all other departments. A lot more seasoned employees are quitting or moving on. Unless you are placed on a "lucky" team, then you are more than likely going to deal with a toxic work environment. Management shows obvious favoritism. It is a numbers crunching game where skills such us organization or creativity will get abused but not recognized. I wouldn't let any supervisors know about health problems (physical or mental), because it gets taken advantage of or spread around the office. I saw a handful of team members leave because they felt unsafe about their privacy and told to put work first. There is often lots of free food and training available, but sales teams will pressure you to skip break or not take advantage of the opportunities around you because it's a team over personal development mindset. Make sure NOBODY finds out if you want to switch to a different department. Management might tell you that they support internal transfers, but many people feel pressured to leave for a new job because there is a 1.5 year requirement before being able to move to a new department. Workers get treated differently if they don't show blind loyalty to sales. There is also a trend of promote good workers to internal positions that may not use their skillsets efficiently-only to lock them down in the department longer. If anyone has watched as many Ted Talks as I have, my advice is to be very, very cautious if you are a Giver. People who are Takers or Matchers will move up quicker and be rewarded much better. The company has not figured out how to pinpoint their key people who value quality over quantity. If you can scam or fluff your productivity numbers (which isn't difficult if you find the right tools or master certain vendors), then you are golden. It's a little disappointing knowing this is the future the company is going towards which will leave their processes even more stagnant and behind the times ...

Pros

Very good about walking you through training. Literally anything you need during training, pretty much anyone is welling to help with questions. Good co-workers overall. (When in office) Great snacks and lunches, tons of opportunities. Overall fun work and play opportunities. There's always something new.

Cons

High drama, some unrealistic expectations, management is polarizing and political. If you don't stay on their good side you'll go no where.

A job for proactive people.

Pros

A lot of space to grow, an open field where you are free to make a difference.

Cons

You get thrown into the ocean with basically no training: if you are proactive you thrive, if you are more procedural and require directon: well is not the place for you.

Pros

One of the world’s largest technology distributors

Cons

Leadership (Team Level) is very unprofessional and lacks a vision or the understanding of Digital transformation strategies, market needs and demands. Very unsupportive to the team members in terms of discussing sales leads & opportunities, explaining individual role expectancies, providing training for improvement for staff, thereby resulting is unmotivated staff members

Not bad

Pros

Good group, sometimes fun place, lots of training and knowledge on the job is invaluable

Cons

Two faced, cut throat, toxic management. They act like they care but there's always secrets and motives. Make sure to ask your peers if you don't know something. Have as little touch with management as possible. Keep your head down and you'll enjoy it pretty well.
