Pros

You can work remote. A lot of managers and former companies that were acquired have lots of good things going for them

Cons

My company was recently acquired by workwave and has gone downhill fast 1. Clients aren't first. We hold them to strict contracts even when we mess up. 2. Processes are ridiculous. The contract approval process should only be for anything that isn't preapproved. We don't have sales ops so things get backed up. Even contracts that are preapproved require that ops looks at them. Backwards and slows things down. Anything outside of the preapproved stuff requires too many eyes to see it. Also for enterprise deals it takes too long. I personally have lost multiple deals because of a 10+ day approval process 3. Workwave acquired a lot of companies and wasn't prepared. They didn't give us enough resources. We could have been left to our own devices just fine but they required we get in ww sf instance and then provided no sales ops or resources to be able to get deals through 4. They don't invest in product. We aren't putting enough money into the software or services. They are only interested in margins and want to flip workwave. PestPac and RealGreen are ancient looking softwares that are loosing clients due to terrible AI. Coalmarch has been put in a loose loose situation with their new contract policies and no money is being put into Slingshot's call center. 5. Finance has too much power. I've had multiple instances where the process was frustrating for the client and I called out the process issues and the finance team get offended and then starts to bully. For example I've had a few clients not being able to pay their bill because finance won't answer the phone. If sales questions the way finance does things all we do is get told that is the way it is and there are no questions allowed or policy changes. 6. Other areas of improvement: Backwards policies. Not paying AEs commissions if they aren't there the whole month. Raises many times being capped with a percentage increase and not what the market is paying. Things aren't documented.

We're sorry to hear of your perceptions of our processes and people. It's unfortunate that these concerns and perceptions were not brought to the attention of HR or senior leadership prior to your departure. That would have provided us with the opportunity to work together to find solutions and address some misunderstandings that seem to exist. We understood from your exit interview that you preferred more of a start up environment, and certainly respect that decision. With more than 40 years in business, our focus has always been to run a sustainable, scalable and growth oriented workplace that focuses on making sure our employees, clients and products are set up for success for the long term. We're sorry to hear this type of environment wasn't the right fit for you and wish you all the best in the future.

These comments are certainly disappointing to hear, and I must admit - a bit surprising. We conduct semi-annual company wide employee surveys, and the friendliness of our employees is always highly rated. I'm sure you've seen the comments - because we share the results with all employees. Are you attending our quarterly company meetings? We do share our vision, strategies and progress towards our strategic goals in those meetings each time. Since all employees also have scheduled recurring one on ones with their manager on a regular basis, I encourage you to use that opportunity to ask any questions, raise any concerns on culture or salary, and get the guidance you need. We're in the middle of leadership training across all levels of management (from first time managers to senior leadership). This multi-month program is being provided ensuring everyone is in alignment on best practices and providing them with opportunities to learn and share experiences with their peers. If there is additional support you feel you need as a manager, please let me know. We're always open to new ideas! We expect all of our managers to exemplify our core values every day. As such, I encourage you to embrace our core value to "Speak Up!" and see me directly as soon as possible so that we can work together to understand your experience and address any issues promptly. Thanks!

Pros

For other departments there are some really good things to look forward to about WorkWave. The company is beginning to grow new divisions such as Product Management and Marketing, which provides some new job opportunities. A lot of the employees are genuine, nice people. The free lunch is also a pro if you're trying to save money.

Cons

Nearly all of the talented developers have jumped ship, and the few that remain are dangerously close to doing the same. But it's cool, because the higher level decision-makers are ignorant of the current landscape of software developers and how they want to work anyway, and have done everything they can to encourage a "codemill" environment where mediocre developers sit and crank out mediocre code. Imagine a software company where Engineering takes a backseat to Sales and Marketing. Developers are not treated well, the pay is not competitive, and it takes too long to advance your salary. Filter past the non-engineering reviews on this website and run while you can.

Thank you for positive comments about our culture and people. While not perfect, we as a leadership team work hard to create an environment across the company that encourages and strengthens that type of environment. All that said, our culture isn't a fit for everyone and it's clear from your other comments that WorkWave's culture wasn't a fit for you. One comment I can't help but address is your assertion that "nearly all the talented developers have jumped ship” because, as head of WorkWave Engineering, I can say with certainty that it's not true. More importantly, I think it's unfair to diminish the skills of the talented team of 70+ engineers who you once called teammates (and friends). We're very proud of our engineers and what they’ve achieved over the past 30 years! Again, we're not perfect but constantly strive as a company and a leadership team to be. We've added many talented engineers in the past several years to our already strong team and will continue to do so to help build the exciting mobile, cloud and analytics products we have underway. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't feel WorkWave was the best fit for you as so many others do. We all hope you find that ideal fit at your new company and wish you the best of luck there.
