Pros

Base way was decently competitive, benefits were ok.

Cons

CEO is far too involved in everything and has no trust in any employees. Believes the product is so easy and sells itself that sales staff are treated like they don't matter. They keep hiring sales people and reducing territories, no one can make quota long term. Place is like a revolving door of people leaving or getting let go. A lot of misleading marketing about products. Culture is horrible, CEO's brother in law is in charge of your travel and will put you in a lousy hotel to save $5 or have you on flights with connections.

Pros

Used to be a wonderful culture in the Talent Acquisition team with good synergy with the People Team. Company products are exceptional.

Cons

Everything changed mid 2022. The culture took a serious downturn that spread when they let go of several senior recruiters in Dec 22 and who had been there for years and had built the company up. These new leaders spoke out of both sides of their mouth talking about an open, collaborative environment. Only once did the new TA leadership address the US TA team on a zoom call before heading off to EMEA on a trip in their first month. They decided in Dec 22 to get rid of many senior recruiters by initially castigating their work performances. It was clear as day they were trying to manage out these recruiters. They then hired a diversity recruiter with zero recruiting experience! Insult to injury was how they tried to hush the unofficial layoff of recruiters with a paltry severance package and no support from management in supporting those that they laid off, not even a word of it on LinkedIn to help them find new employers. They simply wanted to wash their hands off them. Shame that Zscaler is becoming like a lot of Silicon valley companies wanting to hire ex Googlers and destroy a once healthy company culture.

Pros

Incredible product that should beat the competition 90% of the time.

Cons

The new CRO was brought in because of the massive turnover Zscaler has had within its top sellers. A high % of ICs at club last year aren't at Zscaler anymore. A common pattern - if you show signs of disloyalty through "not being appreciative", even as a top performer, leadership will treat you like a problem. This is especially true if you don't come from AppD or MongoDB. Disloyalty can be advocating for yourself and your sales territory, disloyalty can be advocating for someone else or their territory, disloyalty can be questioning why your leader is doing something a certain way, disloyalty can be questioning the comp plan. At best, top performers have been treated like a problem for giving constructive feedback. At worst, top performers have been fired immediately for giving constructive feedback. If you keep feedback to yourself but have any level of empathy, you will see this happening to other people and question why you're working so hard to earn these middle managers money.
