Lack of Structure, Diversity, and Toxic Company Culture
Pros
The pay is good but it’s not worth it. Fully paid and all inclusive company retreats but it’s not worth it if you don’t get along with your managers.
Cons
Lack of training, they literally have no actual training program for some roles, just a bunch of docs that the previous person in the role or manager put together. They create roles out of thin air, will tell you that they have yet to define the role while onboarding you then expect for you to fulfill role expectations that was never clearly defined . My first few weeks I was thrown a bunch of different ad hoc tasks and had no idea what my day to day should look like. Work environment feels like a highschool. My manager literally told me how she was planning to have lunch with the senior manager over the weekend to let her know that she wanted to fire me, it was very clearly both a threat and promise because instead of the senior manager then coming to me to gauge my perspective I was fired by Tuesday the following week which was simply a result of me beginning to ask for too much support from my manager who didn’t want to offer it. They hire lots of POC but when it comes to hiring Black people they seem to rely on a Black Tokenism method. My entire team (besides the senior manager who was Indian) was all white women (I am a Black woman) and only my manager seemed to be welcoming (at the beginning), since my role wasn’t clearly defined I tried to do my best to offer solutions to problems that I could identify and my other team members either completely dismissed me or responded with utter disinterest. I couldn’t tell if they didn’t like me but I felt extremely uncomfortable every time I had to participate in meetings with them.
