Pros

- ok product - ping pong table (in SF office... moving to Denver in April so who even knows if they'll have one) - snacks, but they run out in about 2 days

Cons

- CEO - no transparency, no one knows where the company is going / it's probably going away - No processes - sales team is worn out and unhappy - Filled with a bunch of complainers that don't want to work hard - Low pay for the industry - No 401K match - No budget - can't do any events or anything fun - no company wide in person meeting / holiday party / nothing - Company is too spread out - trying to build out this office in Denver, but still more than half of the company is working remote so collaboration is terrible and people don't help you / trust you because they are far away and you haven't built trust in working with them at all - Old school way of thinking - not forward thinking or creative place to work at all

Pros

The #1 reason to work at Axcient is the perks. While the company's tech is interesting and the culture is welcoming, the main reason to stay is for how well they treat their employees. Some perks: * Well-stocked kitchen * You can bring your dog to work * Many opportunities to learn and advance * Catered food 2x/week * Solid management team * Welcoming atmosphere, with patient/helpful coworkers * Flexibility to work from home * No trouble leaving early or coming in late for appointments * Health plans are somewhere in the B+ to A- range.

Cons

* Work/Life balance suffers due to long hours and long list of responsibilities * Little chance of a significant increase in compensation as long as you work here * Problems with PTO. (below) This is one of those companies that ostensibly offers "unlimited" paid vacation and sick days. The problem with this plan is that you have to be constantly taking advantage of it for it to be worthwhile. In normal companies, you would be paid for the balance of your PTO not taken when you leave or are fired; so you effectively "get" all the vacation you're owed one way or another. Here, you're not "owed" anything, and if you take very little PTO, it's considered to be your choice. Unfortunately, however, management sets up obstacles to taking vacations, making it very difficult to take more than a few days off at a time. Additionally, the culture of the company doesn't look favorably upon people who take multiple vacations in a year. The result is that you end up with much less time off than you would get if you worked for a company with a standard PTO plan.
