Pros

Working with great clients; ability to make an impact.

Cons

High fees and expenses for clients; constant change in work processes; cumbersome work/compliance requirements; This is a sales-centric organization with a heavy push on selling whole life coverage regardless of current interest rate environment or changes to the product (which directly impacts the value).

Thank you for sharing your experience as a First Command Financial Advisor. Our Advisors tell us that one of the most compelling elements of this career is the opportunity to serve military personnel and their families in a meaningful way. We always put clients’ interests first when providing investment advice and related financial recommendations. We offer products and services at competitive market rates and are transparent about associated expenses. Regarding whole life insurance, our company does not focus on the sale of any specific type of financial product. Our Advisors offer products and services in the context of financial coaching through a comprehensive financial plan. We waive financial planning fees for our active duty clients so that the cost of the financial plan is not an impediment to military families getting started as early as possible on their path to pursuing financial security. First Command seeks Advisors who believe in this approach and always put our clients first. In this way, we maintain a culture that reflects the highest ethical standards and best practices of the financial services industry.
