Thank you for your feedback. We are a high volume employer in our call center providing our customers with an excellent experience. We do feel our 7 week training program prepares our employees, however continued learning and experience will bring a new level of comfort as you move forward in your tenure with SDC.

Pros

About the only pro of working for this company is that its easy work

Cons

Where to begin? They'll say youre hired for one job and you'll work a different one. Initially they'll let you "pick" your schedule and days off only to have it change every day. The only consistent schedule you will have is for training. They offer "shift bids" every 2 weeks so you can try and get the schedule you selected. But you have to have a good score to even be considered. Their bonuses are only valid if you never miss a single day or have to leave early. Even then, you wont see it for 3 months. If you have kids or any health problems, forget working here. The first time you have to leave to pick up your sick kid or go to the hospital/doctor you'll be "separated" (fired). Don't expect an email or anything letting you know you've been separated either, they'll just revoke your logins. And if this happens during your 6 weeks of training, you're immediately separated or yelled at to log back in. If you don't want a job talking on the phones, thats too bad. Even the positions they offer that state no phone work require you to answer customer service phone calls. They'll say they only require mandatory OT "once in a while" but its every week. Anywhere from 2-10 hours and you cant opt out of it. You'll get a call from a recruiter almost the same day, the turnover rate is ridiculous. And the recruiters have zero idea what the positions actually entail. Your trainer will be lucky if theyve worked there over a year. And most of them have issues running and explaining the tools needed for the job. One of the main tools used doesn't load for 90% of employees and you'll get marked down for not using it. All of the training material is outdated as well. So have fun trying to figure it out while your instructor tries to figure it out as well. If you complain to the company about your shift not being right or your pay, they don't care. They'll tell you that its the schedule you're stuck with and try bidding for a different one in 2 weeks. Hope you love misdirected calls and angry customers as well. About 70% of the calls you will get either arent for your department or they've been transfered several times. Most of the agents that transfer them to you have zero idea what the issue is so you'll have to ask the annoyed customer again whats wrong. If you need a supervisor at any point, good luck. There arent that many of them and theyre always busy or on break. Also, hope you like Comcast/Xfinity because that's the contract you will get. You'll have to memorize every service they offer even if you arent in that department along with upsell products. They have about 6 different apps you'll have to know and tell people about each call. Even if you have an elderly person on the phone, you're expected to make them disassemble/fix devices. You can't just send someone out to do it for them. Expect to have to reset a modem/router on every call regardless of issue.

Thank you for your feedback. As discussed during the interview process, you must be flexible due to the nature of the work in the call center and changing business needs. We have a shift auction process that allows all employees regardless of performance to bid on a new schedule each week if they like. We do require good attendance in training as it is very fast paced, and we are very open about this at the time of hire. We understand that things come up, and we have an attendance policy in place for these things. We feel asking for good attendance in the first 90 days of employment is a great way for an employee to begin their career. All employees are notified of separations, on the day they are separated. We do discuss extra hours during out interview process, and there are times they are required. We provide all employees with notice and an opportunity to select the hours they wish to work before they are assigned. All of our recruiters have been trained on our call center process, with the majority of them being internally hired. We are very proud of our recruiting staff. We appreciate the feedback, and while we value the perception, the details provided are not an accurate portrayal of our organization. We will continue to strive in our goal of continuous improvement, which begins with listening to our employees.

Pros

Get to work at home

Cons

You are literally just a number to these people. Do not ever expect to get a raise because they do not do raises at all. You have no say in your schedule, you can bid for a shift that they say is based on metrics, however even if you are top 2% you will get the exact opposite of the shift you bid for always. If you are late 1 min at any time it counts against you , no matter if its an isp issue or you are 1/2 dead. The other thing, is you must have very thick skin. you will be answering complaint calls for a cable service company. You get yelled at and cursed out for a solid straight 8 hours everyday. Fun. Only take this job till you find something better , its not worth the money and the loss of faith in humanity. Oh and be prepared to NEVER have a holiday off no matter what they tell you. Been here almost 5 years , I definitely know what im talking about.

We believe in a pay-for-performance culture, which includes our compensation rates and our schedule bidding process. We have recently rolled out a new P4P program that gives our call-taking employees the opportunity to earn individual P4P bonus opportunities without competing against other employees. The employee is completely in charge of his/her ability to earn the bonus dollars each quarter! All our hourly employees accrue 5 PTO days and 7 Floating Holidays throughout their first year of employment, to be used as they see fit. We do not designate specific holidays, as we feel this is a personal decision each employee should make for themselves. Maintaining good performance and attendance benefits all our employees!
