Great people and great pay

Pros

This is a diverse company to work for. I have read some of the other reviews that complained about the employees voices not being heard, they clearly have never worked for big corporate companies. I have worked in pharmacies for big store chain companies and never had a voice or enough pay or PTO to keep any employee there for a long amount of time. I have never worked for a company where you could ask the CEO questions face to face and get answers. The PTO is very liberal and fair. The pay is also very fair. This company had to lay off department in 2020 and understandably left a bad taste in everyone's mouth because of it. I still find it unprofessional to write such harsh reviews that make others second guess this company based solely off of the mere fact that they were laid off.

Cons

I am sad that they do not match the 401k anymore. It has also been difficult to see some of the changes that has happened recently within the company that sometimes leaves me feeling uneasy. I hope that the changes lead to positive outcomes, but it definitely is not there yet. This company likes to pass the baton up and down the ladders and around and around in circles and leaves a LOT of miscommunication to happen. It is difficult passing things to a middle man that can be done more efficiently and correctly in your own department. It also causes patients to quit services because of all the miscommunication and "passing of the baton." I was also quoted a salary much higher than what it ended up being. Although the pay is still good, I was a bit turned off by it and almost did not accept the position because of it.

Pros

Its a job. Thats about it.

Cons

The patients get the worse service from this company. They are always changing processes to try and make things better but they are just worried about the insignificant things. They don't care about their patients. The patients never get medications on time because they care more about which patients can make them money and not about all the patients that they continue to enroll, despite the fact that they know they can't service them, so they waste the patients time. If you want to work in a place where there are constant issues that do not get resolved, apply here. If you're okay with patients constantly getting upset, this is the perfect place to work. As you see, most good reviews are from similar time period because they told their employees to write good reviews to increase their rating. Good luck.

I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your time with our company. Thank you for your feedback. We want you to know that we are continually striving to improve our processes and outreach to our patients. Improving access to healthcare is our priority. Change is constant. While healthcare is complex and we can always improve I don't believe the folks working hard to help patients deserve the title in your review. Clearly this was not the place for you to thrive. Best wishes in your career.

Pros

Unlimited PTO, good pay and ability to work remotely from home. Good leadership and training. Job requirements are transparent and not misleading.

Cons

The only downside is your quota does not change whether you have time off or not. All goals remain the same. So it's important that one works double time in the event they have time off; so that all metrics are met.

Pros

The patients are wonderful patient and caring. The individual contributors do care about things. Used to be a great place to work.

Cons

PTO policy is deceitful. Though it claims to have a generous PTO policy the ops department went from 2 people per 20 workers are allowed off to now 1 per 20 are allowed on a single day. This includes 3 independent teams that do not overlap calls), was told at one point that a child injury or sickness was considered unpaid leave because it wasn’t planned by management. While management (3 total on the ops side) can take time off whenever they want. Professionalism and favoritism: huge issue in this company. This company basically agrees with management even if it results in a hostile working environment for their workers. That it’s your “perception” of the situation. Management will quite literally gang up on people. They will hire people highly unsuited for jobs based on who they like. Professionalism is out the door expect your personal life to be on the table, being spoken about behind your back, and also just general behavior from management that Mimics high school like behavior. Racist behavior: Chinese lottery, eye rolling toward bipoc and other minority reps for the same questions that white reps ask, and overall just racist behaviors that are consistent. All ops management except for 1 member are white. Disregard for patients needs: requests for patient education for LGBTQIA+ and also those diagnosed needs outlined with the dsm-5 adults/kids was ignored multiple times even though this company handles both mental health high level of population within both minority groups. Was told that pronouns aren’t important for patients and educating ourselves on the topic don’t important. No expediting scripts: if the patient is not worth enough then the pharmacies cannot expedite drugs even if it’s the companies fault the patient is unable to get the rx. Data issues: constant fight to get clarity to see what the pharmacies have since the company is a third party results in SEVERE delays that are dangerous for the patients. Told to just “deal with it” due to internal processes that stop patient advocates to transfer patients directly to the pharmacy. Patients not called: patients not worth a minimum are often not called due to a Lack of focus on those lists, and also due to the system of calls only being done once a month to lower value patients. Resulting in patients not getting meds. Management double standard: management can’t take time off whenever they want, they can leave early, can take their kids to the park, or make dinner randomly on the middle of the day but, workers are lectured for making coffee, taking too much time to document calls, asking for time off, told to flex every moment of we have an emergency. Bullying behavior: during 1:1 and reviews instead of showing good and bad often instead what occurs is you are only told what you’re done wrong. Management clearly on the ops side things this motivates you to do better instead of highlighting what you’ve done right or wrong. Ceo & and cfo: have no idea what’s going on. They are so far from the day to day that all of this behavior goes unchecked due to them removing themselves so much. They allow directors, managers and superiors with zero to minimal pharmacy experience to “run” this pharmacy company into the ground. A company that continues to not hit budget numbers and missing the make more and more each month. Reviews (money related): severe delays in timelines for reviews resulting in how many get bonuses being delayed

Pros

Leadership is fun and welcoming, unlimited PTO, great benefits, no micro managing, great pay.

Cons

Two lay offs from the time I worked and was let go on that second lay off. Pharmaceutical laws are keeping this company from being successful. Hard to sell a product you don’t trust when customers constantly call in to complain about mistakes or delivery delay. Small tasks are delayed by a week or two not sure now that they may be understaffed. Customers may not be getting the best service out there for mail order if big pharma doesn’t stop monopolizing insurance benefits.

We are glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us as an employee. It was unfortunate that we needed to conduct layoffs, but it was not a decision we took lightly. We are committed to coming up with new and innovative ideas that will grow Equiscript.

Pros

Remote Work, Great Coworkers, Generous PTO

Cons

Equiscript was originally a great company. Everyone who made the company great has left or has been laid off. I know CEO Michael Burkhold has pure intentions at heart, and I believe he is being misled by others and is steering away from the company’s core values. Due to cuts in the 340B prescription drug program, Equiscript had a mass layoff in 2020. We were ensured that this would prevent anything similar from happening in the near future. This year there was another mass layoff, and the employees that were affected were terminated immediately without any prior warning. They were booted from all systems immediately. There were demotions for the employees who did get to stay. There is so much uncertainty in this company and over time there is less and less transparency in what’s going on in the company. I did believe in this company’s mission, and I do believe that it’s for a good cause, but the company is on a steady decline and the employees have suffered because of the company’s latest and current approach to solving the “issues” at hand. I don’t know the direction Equiscript will go in the near future. But they should start with changing their attitude towards employees. It has gone from great to very poor in a very short amount of time. Equiscript will eventually lose their best employees if they haven’t already. This company will crumble in due time and has completely lost sight of the mission. I believe Michael needs to take back charge and stop letting other people dictate the future of his company. I truly believe that other individuals in leadership are tarnishing the Equiscript name, which Michael has worked so hard to build. It hurts to write this review, seeing where the company was headed to where the company is now going.

We are glad that you enjoy working with Equiscript, we are happy to have you on our team. Unfortunately, like many other companies we have experienced some turnover this year, this a result of a lot of change in the industry. We are hopeful that we are putting the right people in place to lead us into the next phase of Equiscript.

Fulfilling Work and a Great Mission

Pros

This company is built on a great core foundation of providing support to the underserved. It’s rewarding to help these patients across the country. There are such smart and driven employees at Equiscript, and it is a pleasure to work with them. The time off policy is the most generous I have ever encountered, and the leadership team goes out of its way to be flexible with working hours.

Cons

Expected growing pains with a smaller company.
