Pros

I get to work with our nation's military members and families, learning about their goals, assessing their needs, discussing their budget, and combining all of those to come up with the best financial plan I can for their financial future. In addition to the satisfaction of helping military families, the compensation for the work is also very good.

Cons

While First Command is a fantastic company to work for and the mission is outstanding, the job does require more than the standard 9-5 Mon-Fri mentality to be successful, especially in the first year. However, I personally believe the job satisfaction of helping people work towards a great financial future, and the compensation received as pros, far outweigh this con of longer work hours.

Thank you for sharing some of the benefits of a career with First Command, including flexibility and support in building your business. One of our most valuable offerings is the Fast Start program, which provides intense professional development to prepare new people for success as independent Advisors. Some of the benefits of that program include paying new Advisors during the training period and offering a full array of employee benefits. Through the program, our Advisors learn how to build and grow their own business, serve new clients and provide quality, face-to-face financial coaching. Our Advisors are eligible to earn a strong income through competitive industry commissions on sales of financial products, plus additional annual and deferred compensation. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for taking time to share your experience.

Pros

They starting pay is decent but the work load is way too much to complete in a day. Handleing in person transaction, online help, mail, making, being the front line for the rest of the departments. Not to mention the manager didn’t manage. I had someone train me who had only been there for 6 months and never worked in a financial institution before. Upper management allows bullying and turns head. Not to mention defamation of character by a jealous coworker and if I thought there would be a paper trail, I would go after for wrongful termination. Save your sanity and find another financial institution.

Cons

All the pros are cons
