Pros

Opportunity to help clients build a true financial plan, work with service members to maximize their benefits and plan for their transition, and no better opportunity for a truly rewarding career in the financial services industry. I started with this company at 22 and seven years later I could not have made a better choice.

Cons

No hidden illusion of success. You get what you put into this career. Nothing is given to you, but following field leadership's guidance and putting your heart and soul into this career will yield results.

Pros

At one of the field offices there are not many pros. Corporate headquarters is very nice and may have benefits not available at small local offices.

Cons

Very hard to make good commissions without selling whole life policies. Some district advisors may have been great advisors but have been promoted beyond their ability, which creates bad district work environment. There seems to be a culture of malicious gossip among some district advisors and management at corporate.

Terrible experience

Pros

Unlimited earning potential. Once you become independent, you can set your own work schedule (within reason).

Cons

Management/Leadership has very little interest in helping new advisors be successful. I was expected to work well over 60 hours per week to included weekends and federal holidays, but I was only compensated based on a company published 40 hour work week. I had very little (none) support from my immediate leadership even after asking for assistance on numerous occasions!
