Pluses and minuses, but Portland office definitely a plus

Pros

Well funded (not likely going out of business any time soon), resources for travel and communication with existing and potential customers, good office culture in Portland. The Portland group has strong technical skills, and generally are aligned with where things need to go to improve after years of being a startup / technical debt accrual. Has all of the standard "perks" associated with being a startup (snacks, catered lunch on Thursdays) and a very easy going office environment.

Cons

Big mismatch in vision between Corporate (Atlanta) and Portland (Digital). Portland group is digital focused and has a hard time finding its identity sometimes. Difference in cultures reflected in compensation packages and recruiting strategies, which makes hiring difficult. Lack of accountability results in a lot of dead weight.

Pros

Entrepreneurial spirit. In many instances, you get to design your own job.

Cons

Lack of training, interdepartmental communication, processes, accountability, and job ownership
