Poor CMO and Marketing Strategy

Pros

Good salary. I never got a big raise or promotion even if I worked very hard. Benefits OK - Not the best medical insurance

Cons

I can only write my review about the Marketing Department. Others may have a better leadership. I worked in the Marketing Department for +4 years and it was OK until January 2017 when the former CMO Resigned. I reported to the CMO. There was an acting-CMO for almost a year and she brought caos to the department. A new CMO was hired in 2018 but things did not really improve. There were too many changes in a short period of time. Many co-workers live in other cities/continents and it is very challenging to coordinate projects and manage processes.

PROS: Good, Bad and Ugly

Pros

1) Incredible Price Optimization product ("Guidance") that works and generates millions of $ of incremental margin for customers. 2) Some of the smartest people around - Data Scientists, Strategic Consultants, Implementation folks, Customer Success execs - top-notch. 3) BIG sales yield BIG commission checks!

Cons

1) Sales leadership is horrible. All (5) sales VPs turned over in an 18 month period (2017-18) - some due to incompetence, others due to poor management decisions. 2) Expectations of sales reps are unrealistic. The company sells less than 20 deals per year, yet they have 25 sales reps and expect each rep to sell multiple deals per year. Makes little sense. In 2017, ONLY 3 reps made quota!

Pros

Very smart people; tolerant, multi-cultural environment; intellectually challenging; flexible work schedule; can work from home; occasional rewards for all employees regardless of performance; value the individual

Cons

No work-life balance; all employees have laptops which results in working evenings and weekends. It is expected. The constantly looming deadlines, complexity of implementing the pricing software, and customer demands make it a 24/7 job.

Thank you for responding and providing your feedback. We make it a point to treat all employees fairly and with respect in our workplace. As a growing global company the demands are many. Our customers are priorities, but our employee's welfare is as important to us. We do provide employee events on a regular basis; as well as, some extra perks for our employee during the workday as we understand the hard work and dedication our they put in to make PROS a successful company.
