Pros

First Command has all the benefits! I love having a free financial advisor -- we probably wouldn't have sought these services otherwise. The ESOP is going to make a huge difference for me and my husband -- we wouldn't have enough to retire otherwise! The culture here is great -- not at all toxic. In my department there is a respect for work-life balance and I'm not micromanaged. There's trust, and autonomy as a result. The campus clubs are great too! Board Together, the board game club, is what I look forward to every Wednesday! Every month there are a handful of fun events that help keep work morale up and positive attitudes, including multicultural functions. There's a concierge to buy lunch on site and plenty of spaces to meet or relax. Oh, and did I mention the free gym?! So much to enjoy at First Command.

Cons

The company recently changed from a hybrid schedule of 2 days in office to 3 days in office. It's disappointing and creates a fear that remote work will be eliminated all together in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughtful review of First Command. You mentioned several benefits available to qualified Home Office employees and we are thrilled to hear that you are maximizing them. As an employee-owned company, a valuable benefit we offer is an Employee Stock Ownership Program, which is available to all qualified employees and funded entirely by company contributions. Additionally, Home Office employees are encouraged to engage with one of our fully licensed and registered Advisors to create personalized financial plans that work for them. Campus life wouldn't be the same without our clubs and the on-site wellness center and gym. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and advice to management. We will be sharing this with our executive staff.

The move to 3 days in office was a bad one. It costs me time, money, and productivity. Please go back.

Thank you for sharing your experience with First Command. We agree with your comments expressing how our employees care. We often hear from Home Office team members and Advisors that our mission of coaching military personnel and their families in their pursuit of financial security is one of the most compelling elements of a career here. Regarding your thoughts on our hybrid work model, one of many benefits we offer our Home Office employees, our recent adjustment to our hybrid policy is grounded in our core values of courage, love, and effectiveness, and is directly tied to the level of collaboration and communication needed as we face the complex challenges and opportunities of transformation already underway with the goal of better serving our military clients and their families. We appreciate you sharing your advice to management and we will be sharing it with the executive leadership team.
